John Nordberg — This is the last in the series of the Whitetail Hunter's Almanac. Maybe Dr. Nordberg will write another one someday. He certainly still has many stories to tell. As his oldest son, I certainly would love to see him come out with another Almanac, or maybe an edited compilation of all of the early Almanacs? But it has been 8 years since this last almanac. Each of his Almanacs has gone through multiple printings. Maybe if all of you avid readers out there buy out his current stock, he might be motivated to come out with another book. I have always wanted to see him write a large hard-cover whitetail-hunter's-bible-type book, and an outdoor game cookbook. He is one of the best outdoor game cooks you will ever come across. When we get a buck back into camp, we almost always enjoy some of his great cooking, and as an honor to the animal, have some venison heart. As to the content of this book, the information on trails is very sophisticated. Obviously, it was intended to help readers of his early Almanacs — especially the 7th & 8th editions — refine their hunting technique. He ends the book with some examples of bucks we harvested in our hunting group. These stories are illustrated with detailed trail maps like the ones you see in the background image on this page.
